How long will the interview process take?

We aim to wrap things up in under a month. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower (life happens). If you’ve got time pressures, tell your talent acquisition partner upfront - we’ll work with you.

Do I need a CV to apply?

Yes, CV in English is mandatory.

Will I be disadvantaged if I skip application questions?

We’ll still review your application. But honestly? Candidates who put effort into the application questions usually stand out.

I applied before but didn’t get the role. Can I reapply?

Yes. Timing matters. If you feel stronger this time - new skills, more experience, or just a better fit - apply again.

Where are roles based?

We work in a hybrid model. You can expect about 3-4 days per month at our amazing Linz hub in Austria. We’re also open to applications from anywhere in Europe.

Do you sponsor visas?

Not right now. You’ll need the right to work in one of our hiring locations. If you’re unsure, apply anyway - we’ll clarify during your intro call.

Do you cover costs for conferences?

We back learning and networking - think NeurIPS and other top conferences. If it helps you grow and bring value back to Emmi AI, we’ll review your case and support where it makes sense.

What communication tools do you use?

We run on Slack and Notion - fast & transparent!

I don’t have a Google Scholar or research profile. Can I still apply?

Yes - you can still apply. Having a research profile makes it easier for us to review your work. If your papers are listed somewhere else (such as personal website/portfolio) please include that link instead.

Am I allowed to continue research with my former labs while working at Emmi AI?

We understand the value of ongoing research relationships and support our team members in continuing productive partnerships with their former institutions. We simply ask that you discuss any ongoing commitments during the interview process so we can ensure alignment with your role at Emmi AI and address any potential conflicts of interest transparently.

Am I allowed to continue supervising my phd students?

This depends on the topic and supervision load, which we can discuss case by case. Many of our team members continue supervising students while working at Emmi AI.

Can I work part time?

Unless stated otherwise, most of our roles are designed as full-time positions due to the collaborative nature of our projects and client commitments. We're open to part-time arrangements in certain cases - it really depends on the role and situation.
