Emmi AI raises EUR 15M to bring AI to the heart of industrial engineering
Emmi AI, the Austrian deep tech startup developing next-generation simulation technology for industrial engineering, today announced a EUR 15M seed funding round led by 3VC, Speedinvest, Serena, and PUSH. This is the largest seed round ever raised by a startup in Austria.
Emmi AI is building real-time simulation solutions designed to meet the demands of industries such as aerospace, automotive, energy, and semiconductors. By leveraging deep learning, the company enables a shift from traditional numerics-based approaches to AI-enabled simulation, delivering speed, scalability, and precision in solving complex engineering problems.
From handcrafted solvers to AI digital twins
Inspired by advances in AI across domains like weather forecasting, Emmi AI’s technology can run complex simulations with hundreds of millions of mesh cells in milliseconds without manual pre-processing. Its technology is already in use in production environments, with early customer contracts reaching 7-digit Annual Contract Values (ACV).
“Today, industries where simulation is mission-critical spend thousands and thousands of hours on modelling turbulence, simulating fluid or air flows, heat transfer in materials, traffic flows and much more.” said Dennis Just, CEO and Co-founder of Emmi AI. “With Emmi AI, simulations that previously took days or weeks now run in seconds - completely transforming what’s possible in real-world engineering and paving the way for truly intelligent, data-driven digital twins that can learn, adapt, and optimize in real time”
Accelerating deep tech from Europe
The team is expanding, attracting experienced researchers and engineers from across Europe who are drawn by the depth of the technical challenges and the opportunity to work at the frontier of applied Physics AI. Based in Austria, Emmi AI is focused on building a European deep tech company with global reach.
The name Emmi pays tribute to Emmy Noether, the mathematician whose work laid the foundation for modern physics by linking symmetry and conservation laws. Her influence reflects the company’s mission: to bring clarity, speed, and intelligence to some of the most complex systems in the physical world.
This funding round will enable Emmi AI to accelerate hiring, deepen product development, and scale deployments across key industrial sectors.
“We set out to tackle real engineering bottlenecks - the kind that slow down innovation in high-stakes industries,” said Dennis Just. “This funding allows us to move faster, grow our team, and deliver scalable simulation platform that fit the pace and complexity of modern industry.”
"What excites us most about Emmi AI is their capacity to tackle previously unsolvable engineering challenges. By delivering 'GPT Moments' in industrial simulations, they're empowering engineers to push the boundaries of what's possible." says 3VC General Partner Peter Lasinger.
Speedinvest General Partner Andreas Schwarzenbrunner says, "The cutting-edge research being conducted by Johannes, Dennis, Miks, and the Emmi team represents the next frontier in AI, with the potential to fundamentally reshape how industrial engineering processes work. We're incredibly excited to support them as they drive unprecedented efficiency and innovation across industries globally, while boosting Austria's position as a deep tech hub."
“At Serena, we look for founding teams capable of delivering foundational breakthroughs with the potential to reshape entire industries. We’ve all seen how AI is transforming language - but what Emmi AI is doing for the physical world is just as profound. Their research enables real-time simulation of complex systems governed by physics. This is a massive game changer for industrial design and operations.” notes Guillaume Decugis, Partner at Serena.
"At PUSH VC, we look for founders bold enough to tackle the toughest technical challenges — and Johannes, Dennis, and Miks are doing exactly that with Emmi AI. What they’ve built is a game-changer for industrial engineering: real-time simulation of complex physical systems that dramatically cuts iteration time and boosts efficiency across the board. It’s a major leap forward, and we’re proud to support them as they redefine what’s possible in the physical world,” says Christopher Raithle, Investment Manager at PUSH VC.
“We are very proud of the work done by the simulation team at NXAI and are delighted that it is now becoming a company in its own right, having raised EUR 15M from international investors” explains Albert Ortig, CEO of NXAI. “The investment is also a great signal for Linz and Austria. We can break boundaries in industrial AI and are well positioned, thanks to JKU Linz and Prof. Dr. Sepp Hochreiter’s institute,” says Ortig.
